Sanjay Dutt’s elder daughter Trishala Dutt has shared a cryptic note on Instagram. Trishala, who works as a psychotherapist in the United States, has made her Instagram profile private, but fans have been sharing details from her profile and recent posts. In her latest post, she was seen calling out people who use silence as a tool to abuse and manipulate others in a relationship.
As per reports, Trishala was quoted saying, “They are silently ‘teaching’ you that your voice is dangerous, and that speaking up will clearly cost you connection with them.” She expressed her strong disdain for people who use silence as a form of punishment. She admitted that no one should be treated in such a manner. “Silence used as punishment is abuse,” she wrote.
Trishala further expressed that instead of using unfair tactics like silence, people should communicate openly. She also cautioned those facing similar behaviour from people around them and urged them to reject such abuse and protect their peace. “Real relationships don’t teach you lessons through pain, they heal through communication,” she wrote.
Trishala also differentiated between two types of silence — one that a person takes to protect themselves, when they step back to collect their thoughts and avoid saying hurtful things, and another where silence is used intentionally to hurt the other person. Explaining the difference, she wrote, “I need a few hours to collect myself so I don’t say something hurtful.” She added, “Silence that protects your nervous system is self respect. Silence that punishes someone else is power play.”
Trishala Dutt is Sanjay Dutt’s daughter from his first marriage to late actress Richa Sharma, who tragically passed away due to a brain tumour in 1996. Trishala lives in the United States and was raised by her maternal grandparents. After Richa’s death, Sanjay married Maanayata Dutt, and the couple had twins — Shahraan Dutt and Iqra Dutt.
