The death of businessman Sunjay Kapur earlier this year shocked the business world and Bollywood. Actor Karisma Kapoor was once married to Sunjay, and the couple also had two children, Kiaan and Samaira. Even though they got divorced in 2016, and Sunjay remarried a year later, he was always involved in his kids’ lives. In a recent interview, Sunjay’s sister, Mandhira Kapur Smith, talked about losing her brother and how his family is coping with the loss.

While appearing on the InControversial podcast, Mandhira addressesd Sunjay’s sudden passing and how it affected the whole family. She said that even though everyone has a feeling of loss, Sunjay’s kids, Kiaan and Samaira, are the most distraught. “I met both of them before they left, when I was in India. My mother and my sister get to meet them quite often. I mean, your heart goes out to them. You see them, and you realise that their pain is much deeper than what I have for losing my brother. Even deeper than the pain my mother has felt, to be honest. It’s a horrible pain.”

Mandhira Kapur Smith also questioned the way her brother Sunjay Kapur’s divorce from Karisma Kapoor is being used to make certain points in court by Sunjay’s wife, Priya Sachdev. Mandhira challenged Priya to talk about her own divorce from actor-hotelier Vikram Chatwal. She said, “Why would you bring someone’s divorce out into the public? Should we bring the Chatwal divorce out in the court? Everything in her life has to be a secret, and everyone else’s life has to be brought out. Let’s see her divorce papers. She has insulted my brother and Lolo after his death, and she thinks that she is dignified.”
The New Delhi HC is currently handling the dispute over Sunjay Kapur’s will and assets. Priya has claimed that Sunjay left everything to her, which is believed to be impossible by Sunjay’s family, as they keep arguing that he would never have done that to his kids.
