Before coming on the show, music composer Amaal was in the news for his controversial statements. A few months ago, the composer had also publicly announced cutting ties with his family. But he leaves Bigg Boss with his head held high.

Amaal Mallik survived in the Bigg Boss house for 15 weeks, battling both backlash and health issues. He was often called out for being brash and disrespectful. There were also several moments when the music composer lost his temper, leading to serious altercations and reprimands from hosts Salman Khan and Rohit Shetty.
Whether he spoke about his womb trauma, his family’s struggles, or the challenges of opening up about being in love, Amaal Mallik was consistently vocal about his emotions on the show. At the same time, there were instances when Amaal threatened fellow contestants and accused Bigg Boss of being unfair. Recently, at the Bigg Boss 19 press conference, Amaal spoke about his controversial stance in the game and said, “You do end up reacting a certain way in the heat of the moment in this house, but in real life, Amaal Mallik is also like this. I would have threatened someone outside also if they poked me; it didn’t matter how big or small that person was, I would give it back. I even told my family to cut off ties with me because I am the way I am. I told them that if they felt my words or actions were damaging to my parents or my brother Armaan, I would make that decision too. Outside, I am called the Kabir Singh of music. During his stint on the show, Amaal also won many hearts, with several fellow contestants calling him a good human being. In an exclusive interview with SCREEN, Kunickaa Sadanand even described him as a lovely person.
Before entering Bigg Boss 19, Amaal Mallik had made several controversial statements about the film industry, which led to him losing out on a few projects. Speaking about this prior to his entry into the show, Amaal said, “It’s been almost 10 years for me in the industry, and I feel people have often misunderstood me when I’ve spoken about the industry’s reality. I am not affected by losing out on work. Whenever I am removed from films or I don’t feel the right vibe, I take a backseat. When 2-3 producers fire me from big films, I happily go on a holiday, and I don’t take these things to heart. What gets conveyed in the media sometimes forms a different image.”
Amaal Mallik had also expressed a desire for his face to be associated with his music. “I want the people who have loved my music for the past 10 years to know the person behind it. I want my face to be associated with my music and the body of work I’ve created. People should recognize that it’s Amaal Mallik — not Armaan Mallik or Aditya Roy Kapur.”
