The most recent episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show offered not just a celebration of decades-long friendships but also a quick trip down memory lane for ’90s kids as their childhood favourites sat down for a candid and unfiltered conversation. Titled “Dosti ki Hattrick,” the episode featured legendary former Indian cricketers Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag, and Mohammad Kaif as guests, and it was a blast as the trio recalled hilarious stories from their time together on and off the field.
During the conversation, cricketer-turned-television personality Navjot Singh Sidhu, who serves as a permanent guest on the show along with Archana Puran Singh, quipped that the friendship Yuvraj, Sehwag, and Kaif share is quite different from normal ones. “They don’t meet in the mornings. They meet in the evening, after the game is over, like cheetahs returning from a hunt,” Sidhu quipped, as Kaif playfully warned him not to crack double-meaning jokes. “Whatever you have to say, keep it direct and to the point. We’ll add a beep if needed.” Hearing this, Sehwag suddenly jumped in and pulled Sidhu’s leg, saying, “By the way, this episode could have worked without us. Sherry paaji (Sidhu) alone is enough.”
Sehwag also revealed that their gang is quite big, comprising Ajit Agarkar, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, and Ashish Nehra, aside from the three of them. He recalled that they all entered the Indian cricket team around the same time, when Sourav Ganguly was the captain. “Then we played together for almost 12 years. The bond we built became so strong that we still keep meeting at one of our places occasionally.”
Sehwag suddenly took a sharp turn and playfully attacked Yuvraj, highlighting the spirit of their bond, mentioning that the latter has far too many houses now. “Yuvi (Yuvraj) has so many houses now that we never know where to meet. He has one in Chandigarh, another in Gurgaon (Gurugram), then in Mumbai, London, and Dubai. We others have only one each,” he said, as Kaif added, “Now, he is unable to handle all the houses. Poor guy is forced to sell some because he doesn’t know which ones to keep.”
As the conversation progressed, all three joked about their poor English. When Kapil asked, “Are you guys poor in English?” the trio replied in unison, “Very!” Yuvraj Singh added, revealing that they all survive with just three or four words, like “Sorry?” “Excuse me?” and “Yup.”

Mentioning that there’s no bigger patriot than Yuvraj Singh, Kapil Sharma said, “The way he took revenge against England… In one-day cricket (ODI), his highest score was against England. In Twenty20 (T20) cricket, his fastest fifty was against England. He hit six sixes in one over against England. You have gone after England your whole career, yet your wife is from England. How did that happen?” With a straight face, Yuvraj replied, “Karma,” cracking up everyone. “She’s coming back tomorrow, so I won’t say much. All I want to say is… it’s karma.”
For the unversed, Yuvraj Singh married British actor-model Hazel Keech in 2016. According to Zee News, she was born in Essex, England, to a British father and an Indo-Mauritian Hindu mother with ancestry from the Bihar-Uttar Pradesh region. They tied the knot on November 30, 2016, and have two children together.
Interestingly, it is against England that Yuvraj scored some of his most notable records. In the 2007 T20 World Cup, he smashed the fastest T20 fifty in just 12 balls against England. In 2017, he and MS Dhoni clocked the second-highest fourth-wicket partnership (256 runs) in ODI cricket against England. The same year, he achieved his career-best ODI score of 150 against England. He also ranks second in the list of batsmen who scored the most runs (1,523) against England in ODIs, behind Dhoni (1,546).
