  1. Such poorly the representative has described the car as if he built the car in his garage. Mahindra really needs to work on the way they let their team mention the product. Their designs have been improved though overdone at times but thatтАЩs subjective.

  2. I just have to get this out of my sytem, even if everyone disagrees with me: God, I can't stand a car being spoken about like a fashion designer would talk about a getup on a model in a fashion show. It is a machine. Talk engineering more. This pendulum has swung too far with Mahindra, as far as I am concerned. It is beginning to seem like they are compensating for relatively inadequate engineering with 'looks'.

  3. I want to see the equipment list of these cars.
Reports are telling us that the FE3 has the same equipment list as the Pack 3 and it's 1Lakh lower in price.
If that is the case, then the Pack 3 has no reason to exist and this variant is a winner.
    Specially in all black.

  4. Here is an idea please bear with long format:
India has a large 2 wheeler market 20 Lakh vehicles sold per month.
Across India many people travel with 2-3 kids with spouse on these making it extremely unsafe means of transport.
This behavior is also prevalent on highways and expressways and not limited to in town.

Now that GST 2.0 has simplified tax structure.
Why can't we introduce Kei car category in India? We put this category at 10% tax hence keeping costs low.
We already have Japanese car makers doing business in India, by my count collectively they have 20 car models in this category.
Using Kei car structure will mean the Japanese brands don't have to spend million in developing new models for us.
Now to avoid the Nano blunder and overcome the esteem bump to improve adoption we offer BH plate number as standard on this category (also ensures states don't mess up RTO – looking at you Karnataka).

To test the waters we allow brands 1 year moratorium on import duty on fully assembled units.
after this 2 – 3 years moratorium on CKD versions that are put together in India.
3-4 years are more than sufficient to create this segment in our car markets.
This reduces risks for car brands completely. Eventually if Kei series are manufactured in India we can also be exporting back to Japan eventually given our number strengths.
Hence strategically getting manufacturing in India from a foreign country.

My calculations are based on MG COMET
it has 7% share of EV car market. If Kei follows that trend means 20000 units sold monthly.
With tax incentives this can grow to 50-60K.

Our 2 wheeler market will not feel the pinch by these numbers.
Looking historically at Alto, Nano, SPresso numbers which did much better in Rural, Towns and Hills better than in cities it should be a viable win win situation for all.
Yes non Japanese car brands will have a little issue at the start but Tata had Nano and Mahindra had Reva which might help them launch car in 2-3 years.

  5. Tata design philosophy is ageless and far better than Mahindra….there design looks toys which is not looking good on a roads…like scorpio & others they are big but looks more like a truck…not car….

  6. What Hyundai should have done three years ago is exactly what Mahindra is doing now. Despite having a stronger brand image and superior products, Hyundai missed the opportunity тАФ though itтАЩs still not too late to catch up. Interestingly, Mahindra seems to be following in Hyundai and KiaтАЩs footsteps, replicating their design approach and adopting similar marketing strategies used by Hyundai in international markets.

  8. Front headlight assembly looks horrible. Much of its look was due to its headlight and the wrapping led. The round light for an otherwise straight lines and cuts design language is a complete mismatch.

  9. Ahh yes…..the perfect car! The goal was to confuse everyone, including the person who designed it! ЁЯджтАНтЩВя╕П all he needed was thar inspired headlights and lots of lots of stickers…ЁЯШЕ Buyers for this? Seriously?
