After failing to secure a deal from the ‘Sharks’ on Shark Tank India, True Diamond, a designer jewellery brand, owners Darayus Mehta and Parin Shah have now taken to social media to react to the same. While many founders show their frustration after not being able to secure a deal from the Sharks, Darayus and Parin had the opposite reaction. They shared a hilarious video, roasting themselves after their pitch failed on the business reality show.
In the video, the founders were seen cheering their employees after failing at Shark Tank. One of the founders said, “This is the Best thing that could have happened to us.” While another called for a celebration and described appearing on Shark Tank as a ‘life changing experience.’
Seeing their enthusiasm, an employee said, “Are they aware they got F****ed?” Another employee joked, “I skipped my sister’s wedding to make them learn all the numbers, but they messed it up even after after.” Another employee tried to decode Darayus and Parin’s disoriented behaviour and said, “I think it is trauma. Their brain just re-wrote the pitch.” Another employee called their pitch ‘ghatia’. The founders admitted that they hadn’t slept in seven days before appearing on the Tank. Another employee said, “They didn’t get money that’s okay, but at least they could have saved their izaat (honour).”
Then another employee said, “I think we should call her. It is the only way to shock them back to reality.” The words, “Stay tuned for what happend next,” then flashed on screen.
True Diamond appeared on Shark Tank India in episode 5 of the latest season. Before them, a lab-grown diamond brand, Emori, pitched to the Sharks and secured funding. True Diamond asked for Rs 1.08 crore for 1% of the company. However, the Sharks found their grasp on the numbers weak and the valuation very high, which is why they decided not to invest.
